Friday, Week 2

Last day at Hemingway Design and I finished some more visuals of the KiosKiosK, although I'm not allowed to post any on my blog just yet. I spent a bit of time making up some hi-res Illustrator files to send off to actionaid for the actual printing of the t shirt, so hopefully I will be able to get hold of one to wear around! I think it'll look pretty good.

I've also been working on some 3D work for a hair salon trolley for Tigi salons, but alas I am not sure if I can post that either as it is still at the design stage, so no pictures on my last day of blogging!

Hemingway Design is a really great practice with a lot of cool designs and ideas going on, I have definitely learned a lot in my two weeks here and feel like I have soaked up some of that design professionalism and originality, but most of all I am now much more aware of being sustainable and eco-friendly in my outlook, which is something Hemingway Design are very big on and something I admit I never really paid a lot of attention to before. I will take that with me into the future for sure.

A big Thank You to all at Hemingway Design for having me and being a great bunch, and to all at Noise for making the whole thing happen, and to Lawrence for letting me crash at his flat :-) It's been a very worthwhile experience and I hope I can capitalise on the momentum and move forward in the design world as a result.

Actionaid

Actionaid have picked my STOP POVERTY design with the policeman on to print and make into a t shirt! How cool is that?

Show & Tell - Surface Pattern

Show & Tell - Graphic Design

Show & Tell - Interiors

Show & Tell - Architecture

Tuesday & Wednesday, week 2

Still working on 3D visuals of the KiosKiosk, finished some initial shots but not sure if I'm OK to post them yet or not so I will post them if I can.

Yesterday we had a show and tell session. Hemingway Design hold one of these every month or so and it involves everyone bringing along a selection of insipiring design-related things that they have come across in magazines, newspapers, tv, on the internet etc. which are then archived for people to draw inspiration from.

I will post some display sheets that I made detailing May's show & tell session.

Week 2

How cool is that? One of the eco-friendly accessories I found last week, my contribution to today's show and tell session.

Work this week includes more work on the 3D rendering of the KiosKiosk, and some archiving of the show and tell session into an inspirational folder for everyone to refer to for ideas in their ongoing work.

I will see if I can post some 3D images of the Kiosk later on in the week.

Day 4

Today I've been making up some new t shirt designs for actionaid, and gathering together some eco-friendly accessories for Wayne.

I'll see which designs I can post on Monday, as Wayne is away today, and then update the blog with some more pics.

Day Three

Day three involved starting a 3D visualisation of the KiosKiosk, a project aimed at giving young creative businesses a shot at starting up without all the costly over-heads of prime retail space. The KiosKiosk will be a mobile self-contained unit that can open and shut each day in the centre of London.

I still can't post any of the logos I was working on, because we're not sure which one will be used yet if any, but I can post the tee shirts I designed... (actionaid weren't too keen on the big boot)

Days One & Two

Hello!

So, I turned up in plenty of time for day one, and despite there being a classic car with HEM on the numberplate parked outside, I still managed to have to call Hemingway Design to find out exactly what building they were in :-/

Anyhoo, I got here and day one involved working on a logo for a recycling company, and designing a t shirt for the charity actionaid. I will see if it's OK for me to post some of my ideas on the blog as soon as Wayne gets back to me.

Day two involved revising one my t shirt designs, and working on a redesign of the classic trouser-press. So far I've come up with the idea of an exercise treadmill-cum-trouser press that involves running to power up the press, and a trouser-press with a fold-out games board, just to try and make the old trouser press a bit more interesting!

This afternoon (day two) I'm tidying up some images in Photoshop for the Land of Lost Content, and tomorrow if Jack is back I should be building some 3D work for KiosKiosk.

So there we have it, more to follow!
